Co-director and co-creator of Shell Oracle, Angie leads the studio’s material practice, construction and physical realization while shaping its operations and collaborations.

Angie is a co-director and co-creator of Shell Oracle. An art foundation followed by university study in cultural relic conservation developed her sensitivity to material behaviour, structural stability and precision of hand. Alongside the work itself, she helps steer the studio’s operations and external collaborations.

Early encounters with wabi-sabi sharpened her attention to age, trace and imperfection. Her practice has expanded through sustained exploration of soldering and metalwork, allowing metal to move beyond a supporting method and become a visible part of Shell Oracle’s material language.

Angie initiated the conversation that brought her and Yoori into collaboration. Together they formed the first shell-eye work and continue to develop the studio as a genuinely shared practice: Yoori’s attention to form and image meets Angie’s material instincts and exacting construction, producing objects that can feel both refined and strange. Within Shell Oracle, the eye is understood as both receptive and projective; attached to a shell, it becomes a small parasitic presence where longing, elegance and the grotesque coexist.
